Bike Rodeo at PoeFest Community Festival

Oaks & Spokes is helping facilitate the Bike Rodeo at Poe Fest, a free community festival to celebrate healthy choices. The Poe Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to positively impacting the lives of North Carolina youth through health education. Kids and families can visit the Flavored Water Tasting Station, get Temporary Tattoos, look inside an EMS Ambulance, Decorate Pumpkins, and enjoy dozens of other games and activities.
Oaks & Spokes Community Open House

Are you curious about what Oaks & Spokes is up to? Want to get involved? Join us for our annual Community Open House!
Enjoy an evening with your fellow bike enthusiasts. Share your input about what will make Raleigh a better city for people on bikes. Try out a Citrix Cycle. Learn the latest Community Kickstand news. Listen to a presentation about the Raleigh branch of BGDB (Black Girls Do Bike.) Play with the MIRA Map by AIA Triangle, a gigantic Magnetic, Interactive, Reusable, Adaptable Map of Wake County. Eat snacks! Mingle!

WKNC’s Radio Ride
Saturday, October 26th, 12- 4 PM

WKNC’s Radio Ride is an alleycat-style bike ride and scavenger hunt around the NC State campus and downtown Raleigh. Our fifth annual Radio Ride will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26 on NC State’s Harris Field at 2810 Cates Avenue. Vehicle parking is available behind the Student Health Center. Check-in opens at 12 p.m. at NC State’s Harris Field and the ride begins at 1 p.m. Vehicle parking is available behind the NC State Student Health Center. Riders will receive a set of clues for various checkpoints and should expect to bike between 15 and 20 miles, with riders wearing helmets earning a five-minute head start. The rain date for the event will be Sunday, Oct. 27.
Crank Arm’s Halloween Spooky Ride

Ride through the night with the ghouls and goblins! Decorate yourself, decorate your bike! After the ride there will be prizes for best costume and best decorated bike. Bring lights to ward off any demons, ghosts or bad spirits! More here.
Bike-in Movie: Motherload

Join us for a bike-in movie! We are screening Motherload, a “crowdsourced documentary about how cargo bikes will save the world.” Arriving by bike not required, but encouraged! There is no cost to attend this movie, hosted by Transfer Co, Oaks and Spokes, and the Best Workplaces Mode Makers program. Learn more about the documentary here.
O&S Halloween Light Up the Night Costume Ride

Join Oaks & Spokes for our annual Halloween celebration!! Wear a costume, bedeck your bike with lights. We’ll meet at 6:00 pm, the sun sets at 6:20, and we roll at 6:30 for a slow 6-mile no-drop ride.
Wegman’s Ride
Sunday, November 3rd, 2 – 4 PM
Kiwanis Park, 2525 Noble Rd, Raleigh, NC 27608
Did you know that the new Wegmans is accessible by bike? Join us for a greenway ride and get your grocery shopping on. This will be a no-drop, casual ride for all ages and abilities. Portions of the ride will be on low-stress city streets. We’ll leave from Kiwanis Park with a 2:15 PM roll-out, and ride the 1.3 miles to Wegmans.
Triangle Tweed Ride

Ladies and gentlefops! Come sally forth on your best vintage bike or bow tie and suspenders. We shall ride and revel in the ways of the Greeks of old, you know the ones! 😉 We’ll rendezvous at Crank Arm and roll royally through Raleigh to Oakwood Cemetery for a picnic and libations! More here.

Cranksgiving

It’s almost time for Raleigh’s 6th annual food drive bike ride — Cranksgiving! Last year we hauled in over 2,300lbs of food and wrangled over 200 books to donate to a local charity for members of our community in need. Riders are provided a map, mini-missions to help plan your route, and a list of suggested groceries that will benefit our donation recipients the most.
