Stroll in the Streets

Pop-Up Bike Lane

Stroll in the Streets

We are so excited to be partnering with the City of Raleigh on our next pop-up bike lane, as part of the “Stroll in the Streets” Open Streets event which will take place this upcoming Sunday, October 17th. We will be activating the Lenoir Street corridor for this event, which will help our community envision an East – West connector from Dix Park to Chavis Park.

In addition to helping to install the pop-up bike lane (volunteer to help support that effort, here) we will be hosting a:

Slow Roll

Board Chair Nick Neptune will take Raleigh on a Slow Roll of the Lenoir Street corridor, ending at Chavis Park. Oaks and Spokes is helping to support the installation of a Pop-Up Traffic Garden at Chavis Park, led by Bicycle and Pedestrian Commission member Mary-Jo Gellenbeck. Sign up here to take place in the Slow Roll at 2pm.

Bike Bonanza

Back by popular request! Bring by your bike and get ready to show it off and connect with other locals that roll on two wheels. Details here

  • Got a great set up for kiddos? Bring it by!
  • Do you have a sweet new carbon fiber racer? Come over to connect!
  • Just ordered an e-bike you want to show off? We want you to swing over!

We can’t wait to see you, Raleigh! Roll over and come over to hang out with us for a bit.

Pop-Up Traffic Garden

Mary-Jo Gellenbeck, one of our Bicycle and Pedestrian Commission members, will be installing another pop-up traffic garden. Traffic Gardens provide an opportunity for all ages and abilities to get a feel for riding and simulate a small scale urban riding environment, to help youth attain skills for safe riding.

Be sure to come by with your family to check this out. We are also looking for volunteer support the day of to install and support this effort. Volunteer to help, here
