My name is Mason Chamblee, and I am the new Commute Smart Consultant with Commute Smart Raleigh. I will lead the Commute Smart’s residential outreach efforts across the City to promote economic mobility and educate people so we can have folks moving around in fewer vehicles and using alternative modes of transportation, including public transit, bikes, bike-share, carpooling, etc. I will also work with local community partners and leaders to create long-term relationships that can help shift Raleigh from a car-dependent city to one where everyone can easily get to work, school, or fun!
I come to the City of Raleigh from the private sector, where I worked as a consultant focusing on strategic planning, community engagement, and organizational and leadership development. Before that, I worked in local government in Kentucky, working on public relations, community engagement, and communications. I am originally from Texas, where I attended the University of Texas (Hook ‘em Horns!) and have been living in Raleigh for approximately one year. I am thrilled to be here and to get to know the community.
