Big news in the Raleigh transportation world!
Raleigh, NC – The Oaks and Spokes Board of Directors is excited to announce that Jared Haber has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Oaks and Spokes.
“Jared’s familiarity with Raleigh’s bike community and his background in the bicycle industry will really help us engage a broader spectrum of Raleigh’s community, including people who already ride that haven’t heard of Oaks and Spokes, to those who don’t ride bikes right now, but might want to in the future,” Oaks and Spokes Board President Kuanyu Chen said.
Jared has a proven dedication to cycling. In 2011, he co-founded Oak City Cycling, an independent bicycle retailer in downtown Raleigh. In the early days of Oaks and Spokes, he personally planned events for the organization’s first bike festivals. Throughout the years, he has initiated and led several long-standing community rides and bicycle events and has provided direct assistance to thousands of Raleigh residents in beginning their cycling journey. In recognition of his commitment to cycling advocacy, Jared received the Clay Mankin award from QBP in 2016.
“I am honored to take on the role of Executive Director of Oaks and Spokes,” said Jared Haber. “I am excited to continue working with the Raleigh community to promote cycling as a fun and sustainable form of transportation. I look forward to collaborating with Oaks and Spokes’ members and board of directors to build a more bike-friendly Raleigh.”
